Community Schools
What is a Community School?
A community school is more than just a place where students go to learn. It is a hub of resources and support that serves not only the academic needs of students but also their social, emotional, and physical well-being. Community schools are designed to integrate a wide range of services and supports, including health and social services, to ensure that every student is equipped to succeed. The goal is to create a school environment that is collaborative, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the community it serves.
How do we become a Community School?
Your Voice Matters
As we embark on this important journey, it is vital that our plans reflect the needs and aspirations of our entire community. This is a collective effort, and we need your participation to make it successful.
For the 2024-2025 school year, our primary focus will be on preparing to obtain the California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) grant. This grant is essential for us to implement community schools across our district during the 2025-2026 school year. However, in order to move forward, each potential community school site will need to submit a comprehensive application to secure this funding.
