Please join us at Coffee with the Principal on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 8 am or 6 pm in the cafeteria. We will have a presentation “Talking to Teens”. You will also receive your child’s first progress report card.

Don’t miss the College and Career Expo on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. at Montgomery High School. You will have the opportunity to explore possibilities for YOUR FUTURE!

You will be able to interact with over 70 colleges and universities; UCSD, UCLA, UC Berkeley, SDSU, Penn State, Stanford, Washington State, and many more. In addition, many Career Technical programs from Southwestern College will also be present – which includes Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic, Fire Science, Nursing and Health Occupations and Police Academy.

Other technical schools will be represented; Paul Mitchell, Countywide Mechanical, International Health Group to name a few. This is a great opportunity to find out about admissions criteria, financial aid and career pathways available to your student at any age. Don’t wait to be senior in high school, you can start exploring options as early as 7th grade.

Youth Heart Screenings

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a leading cause of death in youth under 25 and the #1 killer of student-athletes, but heart screenings are not part of regular youth exams. Cristian’s Big Heart 5k celebrates the life of Cristian Acosta-Flores who passed away on September 1, 2014, one day shy of his 19th birthday. School Site Council

Hello Lancer Families:

The School Site Council (SSC) is the governing body for input and feedback regarding the Local Control and Accountability Plan as well as the expenditure of the Title 1 funding. We need you to serve as a member of this governing body. The School Site Council must be composed of the following representatives: Principal, 4 teachers, 1 classified employee, 3 students, 3 parents – We need you!

We currently need one parent to serve on SSC for this school year. SSC Parents serve a two-year term unless their child is a 12th grader. SSC Meetings take place on Wednesdays approximately once a month beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Rm. 206. Elections for the parent representatives will take place during OPEN HOUSE Aug. 8th.

The District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) for SUHSD provides input and feedback on programs and services for Title I schools as well as engaging in input and feedback on the district Local Control and Accountability Plan. This year Hilltop High School needs two parent representatives for DPAC. The meetings take place from 9am to 11:30am one Thursday per month at the SUHSD Parent Center located at 466 Moss Street in Chula Vista. Each site elects/designates parents to serve on the DPAC and elections for parent representatives will take place during OPEN HOUSE.

El Consejo de Sitio Escolar (SSC) es el órgano rector para las aportaciones y comentarios sobre el Plan de Control y Responsabilidad Local, así como el gasto de los fondos del Título 1. Necesitamos que sirva como miembro de este órgano rector. El Consejo de Sitio Escolar debe estar compuesto por los siguientes representantes: Directora, 4 maestros, 1 empleado clasificado, 3 estudiantes, 3 padres. ¡Te necesitamos!

Necesitamos un padre para servir en SSC para este año escolar. Los padres del SSC sirven un término de dos años a menos que su hijo sea un estudiante de 12º grado. Las reuniones de SSC tienen lugar los miércoles aproximadamente una vez al mes a partir de las 3:00 p.m. en Rm. 206. Las elecciones para los padres representantes se llevarán a cabo durante OPEN HOUSE el 8 de agosto.
